Behind the Scenes of Real Estate: The Multifaceted Role of a High-Quality Agent

Jeff Lang August 14, 2023

Exposing the truth about what a top-notch agent does all day.

Today, I’m here to talk about what a real estate agent truly does. A lot of people think that real estate agents just cash in checks and hang out on the golf course. However, that’s not accurate, so I’m going to tell you what a day in the life of an agent is truly like.

A good way to show you this is by telling you about what happened when I was at my client’s house the other day. In San Fransisco, the disclosure package needs to be ready for buyers before you put a house on the market, and that needs to include all of the inspections.

“If you want top dollar, you need to work with someone who will put in the time and effort.”

Therefore, in one day, I was dealing with the home, roof, pest, and sewer lateral inspectors. I was also coordinating with the person who was repairing their air conditioning unit, then consulting and negotiating with the stager to see what they would do for the final product. Then I worked on hiring a professional photographer and scheduling them. Then their moving pod got picked up! Needless to say, there was a lot going on.

This shows that a lot goes into the back story of properly putting a house on the market. This is especially true when you’re trying to paint the house in the best possible light to get the most money for the seller. Some agents will just list a home on the MLS and hope for the best. However, if you want top dollar, you need to work with someone who will put in the time and effort.

Agents can also tell you what your house is worth. If you want to see my map of our local area and what houses are worth in each neighborhood, click this link. Call or email me if you have questions about any of this, and I look forward to talking with you soon.
